Test Results

We highly appreciate patient to follow up with their results, to allow essential disclosure and explanation of their results and further treatment plan. It is the policy of this practice to have all patients return for a consultation for their results. Only in certain circumstances the nurse will be authorised to give results over the phone.

Fees

From 1 November 2025 Bulk-billing services will continue for all valid Medicare card holders. Services not covered by Medicare are privately billed Eg: Employment, Driving Medicals and reports. Fees vary due to the length and complexity of a consultation and are determined by individual GP’s.

Appointments

Consultation is by appointment. Patients presenting without an appointment will be fitted in at the earliest available time. Urgent medical matters will always be dealt with promptly. Please “check-in” with reception on your arrival to avoid an unnecessary delay in the waiting room. We also offer Telehealth appointments which enables you to have a GP consult by telephone.  Appointments can be made by calling reception to see if you are eligible. MISSED APPOINTMENTS We require at least 2 hours advanced notice cancel your appointment. For all missed and cancelled appointments with less than 2 hours notice, you will be charged $50 in your next presentation. It is patient responsibility to remember of their appointment.

Medical Certificates

Please make an appointment if you require a medical certificate for work or school. Note that it is illegal for a certificate to be back-dated, or to be issued without a consult.

Disability Facilities

This practice is designed for wheelchair access. We have a wheelchair available if required. Should you have special needs please discuss them with your doctor.

Interpreting Services

At Gosnells Medical Clinic we can arrange an interpreter if required/requested for all appointment’s or you -the patient can contact the interpreting service on the phone number the practice provides, during your appointment.

Procedures

The doctors can perform many minor surgical procedures if required (e.g. removal of moles or skin lesions, treatment of simple fractures). Cryotherapy (for skin cancers and warts etc.), nebuliser, pap smears and resuscitation equipment is available. A longer appointment time may be required so please inform the receptionist.

Waiting Times

Nobody likes to be kept waiting and we are all aware of this and try to adhere to appointment schedules. However, the unpredictable nature of medical practice means that doctors sometimes run behind time. This is mostly due to a patient requiring urgent medical attention. We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused to patients when we fall behind with our appointment schedule.

Patient Feedback

Our goal is to provide a quality, caring service. Therefore if you have any concerns or suggestions please phone, write or email our Practice Manager. We genuinely wish to hear from you. From time to time this practice invites patients to complete questionnaires on their views of the practice and how it could be improved. These surveys are completely confidential and help us improve our services.

After Hours Services

Should you require medical attention after hours please telephone 137 425 to request for a doctor. Our after-hours medical services are held in conjunction with 13SICK Doctor Service who are a fully accredited service. . Please check our opening hours prior to calling this service, as we are open 7 days per week.

Reminder System

We have in place a computerised recall and reminder system. You will be reminded to attend the surgery for an appointment if your doctor feels that it is appropriate.

Home Visits

We sometimes offer home visits within a 5km radius.  Depending on the current circumstances and considering safety of all staff. When the patient is triaged and a home visit deemed neither safe or reasonable, a phone consultation will be offered.
